Collaborative lightweight robots for flexible and cost-effective automation, service robots and the digitization of production - key themes at the Automatica 2018 trade fair.
The Automatica is as big as ever this year: Like 2016, the biennial exhibition covers six halls of 11,000 square meters (A4 to A6 and B4 to B6), but the sixth hall is now fully occupied and the number of exhibitors is 833 just under 900 grown.
Dürr Systems, Rollon, Siasun Robot, Siemens, Sumitomo, TÜV Süd, Volkswagen and Wago Kontakttechnik are amongst the first exhibitors of this year's "The Leading Exhibition for Smart Automation and Robotics". »The participation of Siemens, one of the leading Industry 4.0 solution providers, is a milestone in the further development of Automatica's content,« said Messe München GmbH as the organizer.
Ralf-Michael Franke, CEO of the Business Unit Factory Automation, explains why Siemens is exhibiting at Automatica for the first time: "Above all, we want to show how industrial companies of all sizes can benefit from the digital transformation - along the entire value chain, from product design and production planning through the engineering process to new services. In addition, we will present the integration of robotics in mechanical engineering on the basis of concrete solutions.«
